Prayer of Dedication

Father God, we thank you and praise you, for you are worthy of praise. We thank you for the blessings in our life and for your never-ending faithfulness. You are the God who cannot lie, and so we can trust wholly in your perfect promises. What a gift of grace that you, God, the One who is holy, perfect, and glorious would allow us to come before you with prayer and praise. We dedicate this time to you God, praying that your kingdom would come and your will would be done.

Call to Worship*

Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell of all his wonderful acts.
Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always.
Sing to the Lord, all the earth;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
he is to be feared above all gods.
Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
bring an offering and come before him.
Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness (1 Chronicles 16:8–11, 23–25, 28–29).

Worship in Song

Let’s take time now to listen to these songs of praise, noticing together the powerful, Scripture-soaked truths therein (click the Play button to listen).

Open Up the Heavens

“I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations” (Psalm 89:1).

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands” (Psalm 19:1).

Is He Worthy

“Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom” (Psalm 145:3).

How Deep the Father’s Love For Us

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38–39).

Pastoral Prayer

Father, we thank you for your love. We thank you for the ways you have shown us that immeasurable love in the past and the way you promise to continue showing us that love in the days to come. We thank you that, as your Word says, nothing can separate us from your love shown to us in Christ Jesus our Lord. Although we don’t deserve it, you continue to pour it out on us, so we thank you.

God, as we acknowledged in the message last week, there are times where we feel discouraged in our Christian walk. Times where we are confused, hurt, disconnected, and scared. It can feel like there is a huge hill before us that we just don’t have the strength to climb up. But God, you promise to be with us. You promise to never leave us or forsake us, and we know and trust that you are with us through it all; the good, the bad, and everything in between. We thank you for your presence and your promises which remain true no matter the circumstances. We pray that as we face the steep hills and the deep valleys in our lives that we would turn to you for strength and comfort, and that our hope and encouragement would be found in you.

Lord, we thank you for the source of ultimate hope, which is eternity spent with you; available to us as a gift of grace through faith in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is because of this hope, and the darkness in our world, that we pray come, Lord Jesus, come! We long for the days when all that is wrong will be made right. In the meantime we pray for the strength to endure with faithfulness; that we would finish well the race set before us.

We love you and we trust you.

Worship in Giving

Even in these trying times, we are reminded of the commands in the New Testament to give generously, sacrificially, and with joy. Giving is still available online or via e-transfer (see eService email for details).

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:6–8).

Song of Response

Yet Not I But Through Christ In Me

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20).

“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all” (2 Corinthians 13:14).
