Prayer of Dedication

Father God, we once again thank you for the opportunity we have today to worship you, the Holy God, despite our unworthiness. We pray now as we dedicate this time out of our weeks to honour and glorify you, that you would be pleased with our praise. We ask that you use this time to mold us as you see fit, to shape us to be more like your Son, and to grow in us a heart that longs for sanctification. Your will be done, we pray

Call to Worship*

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
His love endures forever.
to him who alone does great wonders,
His love endures forever.
who by his understanding made the heavens,
His love endures forever.
who spread out the earth upon the waters,
His love endures forever.
who made the great lights—
His love endures forever.
the sun to govern the day,
His love endures forever.
the moon and stars to govern the night;
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of heaven.
His love endures forever (Psalm 136:1–9, 26).

Worship in Song

Let’s take time now to listen to these songs of praise, noticing together the powerful, Scripture-soaked truths therein (click the Play button to listen).

Blessed Be Your Name

“I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving” (Psalm 69:30).

Blessed Assurance

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38–39).

Your Great Name

“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9–11).

Jesus Paid It All

“My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:1–2).

Pastoral Prayer

Father, there is nothing for us to be more thankful for than the truth in the words of that song. Jesus paid it all. The debt we could never pay has been paid in full. The punishment for sin is death and separation from you, and yet your Son Jesus lived a perfect life, and sacrificed himself on the cross on our behalf so that we can be forgiven. We thank you that by grace, through faith in Christ and his atoning work we can be rectified before you. Thank you.

Lord, our world is consistently changing right now. News articles, restrictions, legislations, re-openings, freedoms—on and on it shifts and morphs to the point that it can be overwhelming. But you, God, are constant. You are unchanging, and your promises remain true. We pray that we would hold steady to you and the truth of your Word as our firm foundation. Would we reach out and grasp all that you offer: peace, comfort, security, freedom, forgiveness, confidence, strength. Would we continuously submit to the work of your Holy Spirit in our lives as it shapes us to be more like Jesus.

God, we pray for our church family, and the wide array of differing circumstances, perspectives, and emotions right now. We submit all of these before you, trusting in you to provide, to meet our needs, and to be the one that unifies us, despite our differences. Would our church family be characterized by strong believers who trust in you, worship you, grow in you, and share about you.

We pray all these things, trusting in you, oh sovereign God!

Worship in Giving

Even in these trying times, we are reminded of the commands in the New Testament to give generously, sacrificially, and with joy. Giving is still available online or via e-transfer (see eService email for details).

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:6–8).

Song of Response

Be Thou My Vision

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things” (Colossians 3:1–2).

“Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love” (Ephesians 6:23–24).

Weekly Prayer Meeting: As a church, we know how powerful it can be when God’s people come together in prayer. To that end, we are starting a time of weekly prayer electronically. This resource can be accessed and subscribed to via Anchor, Apple, and Spotify  It’s also linked on our church website and wherever else podcasts are found.

Groceries: If you are stuck in isolation and in need of assistance with things like getting groceries, picking up medications, or other errands, please contact Josiah or Andrew, or email the church office.
