Prayer of Dedication
Father, we thank you for all that you are. We thank you for your holiness, your mercy, your love, your omniscience, your justice. We could spend countless hours and still not fully describe the greatness of who you are and what you’ve done. You are God, you are good, and you are deserving of our praise, and so we offer it to you now and forever. We commit this time to you, asking that you use it as you wish, to strengthen us, refresh us, mature us, convict us, and encourage us.
Call to Worship*
“Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous;
it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Praise the Lord with the harp;
make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
Sing to him a new song;
play skilfully, and shout for joy.
We wait in hope for the Lord;
he is our help and our shield.
In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
May your unfailing love be with us, Lord,
even as we put our hope in you” (Psalm 33: 1–3, 20–22).
Worship in Song
Let’s take time now to listen to these songs of praise, noticing together the powerful, Scripture-soaked truths therein (click the Play button to listen).
“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name” (Psalm 103:1).
“I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory’” (Isaiah 6:1–3).
“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9–11).
“He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification” (Romans 4:25).
Father God, we once again thank you for the truth within the words in that song: that you sent your Son Jesus in love for us, to die that we might be justified through faith in Him before a Holy God in spite of our sins. We thank you that because of that sacrifice, our sin can been separated from us, as far as the East is from the West, and ever-more we thank you for the truth that one day Jesus will triumphantly return.
Lord, we pray to you today with the words of your servant David, who wrote these things in Psalm 25: “In you, Lord my God, I put my trust … Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good … Guard my life and rescue me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, Lord, is in you” (vv. 1, 4–7, 20–21).
God, we pray for wisdom and discernment to show well the light of your love to the people around us, and to share the truth of your gospel to those who would hear it. Fill us with boldness and confidence in you.
Worship in Giving
Even in these trying times, we are reminded of the commands in the New Testament to give generously, sacrificially, and with joy. Giving is still available online or via e-transfer (see eService email for details).
“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:6–8).

Song of Response
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things” (Colossians 3:1–2).
“May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word” (2 Thessalonians 2:16–17).
Weekly Prayer Meeting: As a church, we know how powerful it can be when God’s people come together in prayer. To that end, we are starting a time of weekly prayer electronically. Check the church email sent out for access details, or email Andrew. Moving forward, we will also be taking communion during this time, so be ready with whatever you have that is closest to the bread and grape juice.
COVID-19: For congregational updates on future meeting times, cancellations, and information regarding the coronavirus, please check our church website regularly.
WORD Processing Podcast: With the help of a number of tech-savvy and servant-hearted individuals, we have created a podcast with new episodes to be released each Wednesday morning. This resource can be accessed and subscribed to via Anchor, Apple, and Spotify It’s also linked on our church website and wherever else podcasts are found.
Groceries: If you are stuck in isolation and in need of assistance with things like getting groceries, picking up medications, or other errands, please contact Josiah or Andrew, or email the church office.
