Prayer of Dedication
Father we thank you for this time that we can set aside in our week to leave the stresses of our world at your feet. We pray that this time would be a respite for us from the storms of life, where we can focus on worshiping you, praising your great name, learning from your Word, and growing in our spiritual maturity. Free our minds from distraction and anxiousness we pray, and allow us to focus wholly on you.
Call to Worship*
“Shout for joy to God, all the earth!
Sing the glory of his name;
make his praise glorious.
Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!
So great is your power
that your enemies cringe before you.
All the earth bows down to you;
they sing praise to you,
they sing the praises of your name” (Psalm 66:1–4).
Worship in Song
Let’s take time now to listen to these songs of praise, noticing together the powerful, Scripture-soaked truths therein (click the Play button to listen).
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging” (Psalm 46:1–3).
“I am the Lord your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy” (Leviticus 11:44a).
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts” (Colossians 3:15–16).
“I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever” (Psalm 145:1–2).
Father, we thank you that you sent your Son, Jesus as our wonderful, merciful Savior. We thank you for the truth of the gospel: that it is through faith in His life, death, and resurrection that we are saved for eternity. What an indescribable gift of grace. We pray that the truth and grace of Christ would draw us into deeper relationship with you as we pursue the holiness that He perfectly demonstrated for us.
Lord, for whatever reason, we know this week has felt tougher for many. But you are a God of strength and power, and we ask for the courage to step into the coming days with confidence in you. We ask that you help us take our thoughts captive, and fill our minds with things above.
God, in times of difficulty and stress it can be even easier to give in to temptation. We confess now the times, even recently, that we have ignored the convicting work of your Spirit and have given in to sin. We pray for your forgiveness now, and ask that you would help us to rely on your guidance to stand firm moving forward. We know that in this life we will never be sinless, but we pray for the growth to be sinning less.
As we approach your Word taught now, we pray that you would prepare us for the message you have for us. Would we leave this time challenged, encouraged, and ready to take action.
Worship in Giving
Even in these trying times, we are reminded of the commands in the New Testament to give generously, sacrificially, and with joy. Giving is still available online or via e-transfer to [email protected].
“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:6–8).

Song of Response
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid” (Psalm 27:1)?
“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all” (2 Corinthians 13:14).
Weekly Prayer Meeting: As a church, we know how powerful it can be when God’s people come together in prayer. To that end, we are starting a time of weekly prayer electronically. Check the church email sent out for access details, or email Andrew. Moving forward, we will also be taking communion during this time, so be ready with whatever you have that is closest to the bread and grape juice.
COVID-19: For congregational updates on future meeting times, cancellations, and information regarding the coronavirus, please check our church website regularly.
WORD Processing Podcast: With the help of a number of tech-savvy and servant-hearted individuals, we have created a podcast with new episodes to be released each Wednesday morning.
