Welcome to Oakridge Youth 19/20!
We’ve got some new information for our new season of ministry below. Some important highlights are:
A different approach:
Times change and lifestyles shift, and ministries need to adapt. With that being said, for the time being at least, our Friday night Ridge program will be going on hiatus. This is not necessarily a permanent thing, nor necessarily a bad thing; it’s just a change, as we seek to shift and adapt to best suit the needs of you and your families.
And so on that note, we’re really excited about shifting directions, to a more relational approach. Over the next little while, Pastor Andrew would love to sit down with as many of your individual families as he can, spending some time with each of you parents in prayer and discussing how he can best pastor and care for your children. So be on the look out for a message from him to arrange a time to connect, or better yet, send him some days and times that work for you! The result of all this will be, Lord willing, a more relational youth ministry where each of you, parents and youth, feel more cared for and ministered to, and more connected to our church community.
Program and events:
Thursday Nights — Treehouse and Rooted — 6:30-7:45pm Starting October 17
Our Treehouse and Rooted programs are starting back up, and often we are looking for youth volunteers. For details, check out the bottom of the page here.
Special Thursday Nights — After Party — 8pm-9:30pm October 24, November 14, December 5
Last year we tried out a Treehouse After Party a few times on Thursdays at 8pm. We will be bringing these back once per month and this year we are inviting anyone in grades 8-12. That’s right, you don’t have to be a Treehouse/Rooted volunteer to come hang out with us! These will be casual and social, some come check it out, whether you can stay for the whole time or just a few minutes.
A few times per year — All Youth Socials — Next date: TBA
We will be having a few All Youth Social events throughout the school year — in the past these have included board-game nights, church-wide dark games, laser tag, or our annual Christmas party/serve night. If you are interested in connecting with these social nights, please let us know what days and times you would be available.
If you would like to be added to our email list to get notified about upcoming youth programming and events, or if you have questions or concerns about our programming, please contact Pastor Andrew.
At the start of each new school year, each participant must fill out a new Child/Youth Information Form. Please print and fill out this form and bring it to your first youth event.
