Prayer of Dedication

Heavenly Father, we come before you now for the express purpose of worshiping you for who you are, what you’ve done, and what you’ve promised to do. We ask that you quiet our minds and still our hearts for your living ways are all we seek. Strengthen our lives and inspire our spirits; in your living waters flow endless grace.

Amen.

Call to Worship*

“Shout for joy to God, all the earth!
Sing the glory of his name;
make his praise glorious.
Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!
So great is your power” (Psalm 66:1–3a).

Worship in Song

Let’s take time now to listen to these songs of praise, noticing together the powerful, Scripture-soaked truths therein (click the Play button to listen).

Come People of the Risen King

“Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest in hope” (Acts 2:26).

God of Wonders

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge” (Psalm 19:1–2).

Great Are You Lord

“Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness” (Psalm 150:1–2).

Wonderful Merciful Savior

“See “Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good” (Psalm 25:6–7).

Pastoral Prayer

Our gracious God in heaven,

It’s the desire of our hearts to worship you, the crowning fulfillments of our souls to adore you, and it’s our heavenly pleasure and privilege to come before you.

Give us power, we ask, by your indwelling Holy Spirit, to help us worship today, that we may forget the world, be brought into fullness of life, be refreshed, comforted, and blessed. Give us knowledge of your goodness that we might not be overwhelmed by your sheer greatness. Give us Jesus, Son of Man, Son of God, that we may not be fearful, but be drawn near with brotherly and sisterly love, with holy boldness and peace; He’s our Mediator, Brother, Interpreter, and Lamb. It’s him we come to glorify, it’s in him we’re longing to set on high.

We have no crowns to give—nothing to worth—but what you’ve generously given to us we joyfully return, content to feel that everything is ours when it is actually yours, and the more fully ours when I have yielded it to you.

Let us live wholly for the glory of Christs’ name, free from distractions and from hindrances to the pursuit of the narrow way to which you’ve invited and called us. We are pardoned through the blood of Jesus—give us today a new sense of it, continue to pardon us by it, may we come every day to the fountain, and every day be washed anew, that we may worship you always in spirit and truth.

We ask these things in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.

Amen.

Worship in Giving

Even in these trying times, we are reminded of the commands in the New Testament to give generously, sacrificially, and with joy. Giving is still available online or via e-transfer (see eService email for details).

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:6–8).

Song of Response

Cornerstone

“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved” (Romans 10:9–10).

Benediction

“To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen” (Jude 24–25).
