No responsible government sends soldiers who are untrained, under-resourced, and unarmed into a war zone about which they know nothing. That would be irresponsible and reckless. Instead, a country trains, equips, and arms the members of their military in response to what they know about potential enemies.
In many ways, this is what is described in the closing paragraphs of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. Followers of Jesus Christ are soldiers and, whether we acknowledge it or not, we are at war. And, as we would expect a good and gracious God to do, he prepares us for victory by teaching us through Paul’s pen about the type of war we are in, the enemy we are up against, and the weapons he has provided for us with which we can fight.

Josiah has served the Oakridge Bible Chapel family as one of its elders and one of its pastoral staff members since September 2018, before which he ministered as an associate pastor to a local congregation in the Canadian prairies. Josiah's desire is to be used by God to help equip the church for ministry, both while gathered (edification) and while scattered (evangelization). He is married to Patricia, and together they have five children—Jonah, Henry, Nathaniel, Josephine, and Benjamin.
