Below is a November 2025 prayer update sent to the Oakridge Bible Chapel family from Brian and Sally Seim, missionaries who serve the Lord with SIM Canada as an extension of OBC’s gospel ministry.
Hello, friends!
- As I shared with you, my PhD process is complete, and I have been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy in Theology. A final step is to prepare the written dissertation for publication. I have met with my editor and find her quite capable. Now comes the back-and-forth between the writer and the editor to ensure that meaning is not lost, and that organisation and copy are excellent. Please pray for patience and understanding (for both of us) over the next three months as we work on these things.
- I continue to mentor a SIM missionary couple from India who work hard to develop a gospel fellowship among South Asians in Hamilton, Ontario. Some come from a Christian background, while others are Hindu, Sikh, and Muslim. The fellowship includes some Christian families, women who have become Christians, lonely, culture-shocked families, and many non-Christian husbands who enjoy the food and fellowship. Every few months, one of these men gives his life to Christ, with great rejoicing—from their spouse—and the Christians. This fall, average attendance numbers reached fifty, a critical number in groups, and a transition point in leadership when more tasks need to be delegated (to godly folks who take responsibility well). Please continue to pray for this effort.
- Our ESL classes are in full swing for the fall semester. We have many returning students, along with new ones—ten classes and 130 students—an ESL-focused friendship club, for these mothers of students preparing for university in Canada. They are fully engaged in learning English, understanding more about life in Canada, and developing friendships with us and their classmates. This week, Sally’s and my classes will go out to lunch to continue building relationships. Please continue to pray for us.
- Yesterday, I went through my day-timers for the last seven years. I noted that during that time, Sally and I had several weekends away but only one vacation of over five days. On Friday, October 24th, we will be taking a vacation until November 9th. Please pray for rest, relationship, discovery and fun as we explore places along the Mediterranean.
Blessings,
Brian and Sally Seim
