Below is a January 2026 prayer update sent to the Oakridge Bible Chapel family from Brian and Sally Seim, missionaries who serve the Lord with SIM Canada as an extension of OBC’s gospel ministry.
Greetings in this new year.
With the greyness of our weather throughout much of December this year in the Toronto area, our prayer focus this January is about relationships that bring hope, encouragement and light.
- On January 8th, we’ll pick up our ESL program. The newer students, faced with snow and cold, sometimes find it tough to leave home and be part of things. This makes it difficult for their friendships and their parenting. Please join us in prayer for ESL.
- I went to the South Asian Gospel Fellowship in Hamilton, Dec. 1st. I usually meet the missionary/pastor one-on-one and don’t attend the service monthly. The fellowship has nearly doubled since the beginning of 2025. Those who are not yet Christians now come in and sit, listening to the message, and our missionary interacts with them during the meal, after the service. Please pray. The winter months are emotionally and financially hard on new immigrants, yet it is also when their hearts open spiritually.
- I have completed all revisions from the Viva examiners, except the edit. That is a painstaking task. Please pray for focus, collaboration with my editor, patience, and a quick memory of my original intent. The projected completion date is mid-February.
