Below is an May 2025 prayer update sent to the Oakridge Bible Chapel family from Brian and Sally Seim, missionaries who serve the Lord with SIM Canada as an extension of OBC’s gospel ministry.
Dear Friends,
Update: I submitted my thesis to my academic supervisors in April as planned.
On May 27, I turn 72 years old. My mind is still healthy (or at least, so I believe), although my body sometimes refuses to keep up. Having completed this 8.5-year assignment, I sense a need to wait on God, hear his will for me, and ensure I have and will continue to follow his path. For May and parts of June, I invite you to join me in:
- Praying: for remaining tasks or revisions in my studies, resting in his presence, next steps in writing and ministry, and spending extra time with Sally.
- Resting: being creative with my hands, walking beside lilting streams and still waters, with family and friends, and reading scripture and other heart-shaping thoughts.
- Teaching: laying out new lessons for ESL and reframing lessons from my research findings.
- Leadership development is a significant piece of my study for the SIM community. Wisdom for decision-making moments as younger men approach urban mission at critical moments and fresh opportunities in ministry and life.
- Planning: reviewing next steps of where research has taken me and evaluating course corrections.
Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and prayers for us.
In his service,
Brian & Sally Seim
