OAKRIDGE BIBLE CHAPEL

Brian and Sally’s Prayer Report

Below is a July 2024 prayer update sent to the Oakridge Bible Chapel family from Brian and Sally Seim, missionaries who serve the Lord with SIM Canada as an extension of OBC’s gospel ministry.

May Requests

  • I (Brian) was scheduled for hip replacement surgery on July 2 but, because of a staffing problem at the hospital, that has been rescheduled for July 9
  • I am rethinking areas of my thesis, looking through the eyes of ‘spiritual theology’ (Eugene Peterson) and carefully developing the material into the preferred manuscript form
  • Sally and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with our family on June 15–20
  • Our ESL classes did a year-end celebration over the year, blessing those returning to China and elsewhere and planning activities for the summer
  • Please pray for my missionary mentee, who remained in Canada while his family returned for essential family care in India. This has allowed him to disciple young believers and pray for a Hindu man, “…who loves to do occult worship and claims to have mysterious powers etc. Stephen has on occasions met him to witness his claims, but they haven’t worked. Mr K suddenly came to church with a skin disease a few weeks ago, Stephen asked him if he could pray to Jesus to heal his disease, and he agreed. Before praying Stephen asked him if he was going to put his faith in Jesus as the only God, but he said NO. Stephen said, I will still pray for you, but you surely need to deal with Jesus when he works in your life. A few days later when Stephen called him, he said his sickness was slowly getting healed. In the past few days Mr. K has been bombarding him with pictures and videos of Christ”. Please pray that Mr. K will come to faith in Jesus.

In His Service,

Brian and Sally Seim

By job title, Alice is the office administrator at Oakridge. But her behind-the-scenes efforts go far beyond that! She is actively involved in the leadership team for the Tuesday evening women's bible study, she is on the mission committee, and she has recently both stepped into the leadership of church bridal and baby shower celebrations, and started teaching in our Ozone kids program. Oh, and if you see any special seasonal or holiday decorations around the church, it's a safe bet that Alice was involved!
