Once again on the podcast this week, we are discussing a topic often talked about in the church, but rarely understood with clarity: the trinity! What does it mean for the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit to all be fully God, yet distinct from each other? What sort of issues can we run into if we don’t take time to understand trinitarian theology? How do we come to these conclusions from the Bible? And ultimately, why does it all matter?
Join with Josiah as he asks our special guest, Dr. J. Scott Horrell, to help us wade through the murky waters of this confusing, yet essential Christian doctrine.

Dr. Horrell has served the Lord as a missionary, pastor, and theologian in various parts of the world. For the past two decades, however, he has been stationed at Dallas Theological Seminary as Senior Professor of Theological Studies where his focus has been biblical and systematic theology as well as world religions and worldwide Christianity. Dr. Horrell especially loves to orient students to a global understanding of Christian faith and the implications of the triune God for all of life.

Josiah has served the Oakridge Bible Chapel family as one of its elders and one of its pastoral staff members since September 2018, before which he ministered as an associate pastor to a local congregation in the Canadian prairies. Josiah's desire is to be used by God to help equip the church for ministry, both while gathered (edification) and while scattered (evangelization). He is married to Patricia, and together they have five children—Jonah, Henry, Nathaniel, Josephine, and Benjamin.
