OAKRIDGE BIBLE CHAPEL

Our Responsibility Under His Authority (Mark 11:27–12:12)

In the summer of 1994, a Korean Air jet plane was landing when it skidded across a rain-soaked runway and rammed into a safety barricade. No sooner had the 160 passengers escaped to safety than the aircraft exploded into flames. News reports after the incident revealed that the cause of the accident was a fist fight between the pilot and co-pilot over who was in charge of the landing controls! Not knowing who’s in charge can be dangerous. Not only is this true for landing an aircraft but it’s also true in our relationship with God. As Christians, the sooner we recognize God’s role as the ultimate authority in our lives, the sooner we can understand and embrace our responsibility as stewards of what he’s entrusted to us.
